The Finkley Down Farm was one of the earliest farm parks within the UK, having opened its doors 38 years ago. They’re now open all year, featuring a large playroom with separate sections for various age groups. There’s also a lot of outdoor fun, such as the Little Farmers Driving School. Children can participate in animal care and feeding activities throughout the day. The Meerkat Mansion is now the most recent addition to the Farm-Tastic day trip! Finkley Down Farm is quite proud of the fact that they attract visitors from all over the nation, employing over 60 people, operate a high-quality restaurant that welcomes thousands of families seven days a week, and have won several accolades.
Fairbourne Railway
The Fairbourne Railway has been running from Fairbourne village to the mouth of the Mawddach Estuary, connecting with the ferry to Barmouth for over 100 years. It started as a two foot gauge horse-drawn tramway which was then converted to a 15 inch gauge ralway in 1916. The line in 1986 was completely re built to a 12.25 inch gauge.
