Plas Menai, is the National Outdoor Centre for Wales and is owned and managed by Sport Wales to ignite a lifetime passion and participation in outdoor activities.
The Centre has been inspiring people to experience the outdoors for over 35 years, and they pride theirselves on their professional, friendly and flexible approach to all their customers.
Plas Menai is perfectly situated for the ultimate outdoor adventure, situated on the banks of the Menai Strait and only a short drive from the Snowdonia National Park.
Courses and Training
The Centre is a recognised RYA and BC training centre and offers world renowned technical courses and instructor training in; dinghy sailing, windsurfing, powerboating, cruising and kayaking, all courses range from beginner to advanced, with a range of certified courses for children.
In addition to their extensive programme of instructor training courses, they offer their Instructor Training Programmes, perfect for anyone wanting to gain the right qualifications to break into the outdoor industry with no prior experience.
School Trips & Youth Groups
Their experienced team are also dedicated to ensuring children and groups get the most out of their visit by helping them to positively embrace new opportunities and learning experiences.
They endeavour to ensure their activities are mapped against the National Curriculum, and provide cross curricular links, as well as developing key skills, like decision making, teamwork, and communication. The Centre holds the Learning Outside the Classroom and Adventure Mark badges, as well as an AALA licence.

The centre operates numerous Clubs for all ages, they’re all about having fun outdoors, learning new skills, developing confidence and making lots of new friends along the way.
